Mercury Accumulation and Elimination in Different Tissues of Zebrafish (Danio rerio) Exposed to a Mercury-Supplemented Diet

چکیده

In this study, we evaluated the bioaccumulation of mercury in zebrafish (Danio rerio) exposed to mercury-contaminated food for 21 days and depuration a subsequent post-exposure period 28 days. Four tissues (muscle, liver, gills, skin) were analyzed content. Overall, data indicated that Hg accumulation liver is faster than other tissues. Furthermore, tissue with highest rate per day (0.021 µg g−1 day−1), followed by muscle, skin, gills. Conversely, rates different showed following order: gills > skin muscle liver. The factor values increased linearly during uptake period. ratios between concentration experiment also remained higher 1 elimination period, suggesting Danio rerio needed more 4 weeks depuration. Finally, distribution water column particulate dissolved, it opposite, < dissolved. conclusion, study contributes better understanding differences dynamics stages model fish, emphasizing alterations on available column.

Morphofunctional Alterations in Zebrafish (Danio rerio) Gills after Exposure to Mercury Chloride

Mercury (Hg) is a global pollutant that may exert its toxic effects on living organisms and is found in both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems in three chemical forms; elemental, organic, and inorganic. The inorganic form (iHg) tends to predominantly accumulate in aquatic environments. The gill apparatus is a very dynamic organ that plays a fundamental role in gas exchange, osmoregulation, aci...

Histopathological Changes of Zebrafish (Danio rerio) Ovaries Exposed to Sub-lethal Concentrations of Methyl Paraben

Paraben compounds are used widely as preservatives to inhibit microbial growth and extend used in pharmaceuticals, hygienic, cosmetics, care products. They pose the potential for reproductive toxicity for users. This paper provides an overview of the applications of histopathological biomarkers in reproductive toxicity in zebrafish caused by methylparaben. The present study investigated the cha...

The Effect of Mercury on the Morphology of Devel- oping Zebrafish Embryos (Danio rerio)

The current study was carried out on zebrafish embryos at 6 h post fertilization exposing them 24 h to five concentrations (0 [negative control], 5, 10, 50, 80, 100,and 200 ppb Hg cl. Zebrafish embryos exposed to2% ethanol were positive controls (100% embryonic death). Embryos were assessed at 30, 54, 72 and 96 h post fertilization for progress in development, morphometry and morphological defo...

BIOLOGY OF ZEBRAFISH, Danio rerio

Zebrafish, Danio rerio (Hamilton), is one of the most important vertebrate model organism in genetics, developmental biology, neurophysiology and biomedicine (Rubinstein, 2003; Amsterdam and Hopkins, 2006). It is a small, robust fish, so large numbers can be kept easily and cheaply in the laboratory, where it breeds all year round. Development is rapid, with precursors to all major organs devel...
